Position

The Payroll Manager Benelux is ultimately responsible for the accurate, timely and efficient execution of payroll and time-registration processes within a fast-growing, international environment. In this role, the Payroll Manager leads the Benelux team and acts as the key link between Payroll, HR Services, Finance, IT and external stakeholders.

The focus is on safeguarding continuity and stability, while simultaneously delivering major change and improvement initiatives. The Payroll Manager combines strong operational expertise with solid people- and change-management skills.

  • Managing, coaching and developing the Benelux Payroll & Time Registration team;
  • Responsible for accurate and timely payroll processing across multiple countries and collective labour agreements (Netherlands and Belgium);
  • Integrating six separate payrolls into one harmonised payroll landscape;
  • Implementing new collective labour agreements and translating HR initiatives into payroll processes;
  • Optimising and standardising payroll and time-registration processes with a focus on efficiency and scalability;
  • Active stakeholder management with HR Services, Finance, IT and external parties;
  • Preparing and implementing SOX controls within payroll;
  • Working with and optimising systems such as ATOS (time registration), Exact (payroll) and SAP (ERP);
  • Taking the lead on multiple projects in parallel, within a context of rapid growth and existing backlogs;
  • Exploring (partial or full) payroll outsourcing options in the medium term.

Profile

The ideal candidate is a strong Payroll Manager who brings calm, structure and direction to a dynamic and sometimes immature organisational context. Someone who can drive operational excellence while also thinking strategically about the future of payroll.

  • Extensive experience in payroll management within a large, complex organisation (preferably international / Benelux);
  • Proven experience in leading and coaching payroll teams;
  • Strong knowledge of payroll processes, legislation and collective labour agreement implementations;
  • Experience with process harmonisation, integrations and improvement projects;
  • Familiar with SOX environments or demonstrable experience with internal controls;
  • Experience with ATOS, Exact Payroll and SAP is a clear advantage;
  • Strong people manager with natural authority;
  • Excellent communication skills and strong stakeholder sensitivity;
  • Strong project management skills, able to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously;
  • Analytical, structured and process-driven;
  • Resilient under pressure and able to set priorities in a fast-changing environment;
  • Pragmatic, results-oriented and continuously focused on improvement.
