Our client is a specialised Dutch organisation operating within the professional services sector. The company has built a strong position in a specific niche market and works with an extensive network of professionals and clients.
The organisation is currently entering a phase of further growth and professionalisation. To support this next stage, the company is seeking a Managing Director who can provide strategic direction, accelerate commercial growth and further strengthen the internal organisation.
The Managing Director will serve as the statutory director and report to the shareholder / group leadership.
Position
The Managing Director has overall responsibility for the strategic, commercial and operational management of the organisation.
This role requires a leader who sets clear direction while remaining actively engaged in the market and making a significant contribution to commercial development and relationship management.
The Managing Director will define the strategic direction for the coming years and translate this into tangible commercial growth, strong client relationships and the continued professionalisation of the organisation.
- Overall responsibility for strategy, results and day-to-day management;
- Delivering commercial growth and further market development;
- Actively developing and maintaining relationships with clients and key stakeholders;
- Identifying and capitalising on new market and growth opportunities;
- Building and developing a strong management team;
- Fostering an entrepreneurial and results-driven culture;
- Safeguarding quality, reputation and financial performance;
- The Managing Director will be highly visible both internally and externally, acting as a connecting leader between strategy, operations and commercial activities.
Profile
- Higher professional or academic level of thinking and working (HBO/WO equivalent);
- Minimum of 10 years’ management experience within professional services;
- Demonstrable commercial end-responsibility (P&L);
- Proven track record in growth and business development;
- Entrepreneurial, commercially driven and results-oriented;
- Hands-on leadership style, suited to a leading-from-the-front approach;
- Coaching leadership style: develops people, builds trust and holds individuals accountable;
- Strong organisational awareness and ability to connect stakeholders; understands different interests, creates alignment and builds sustainable relationships. Leads from within the team rather than above it, remaining hands-on and recognising that a highly corporate or overly hierarchical leadership style does not fit the size and nature of the organisation.
