Assignment
The Manager Risk & Compliance is responsible for developing and implementing risk policies, advising the internal organisation, and ensuring effective identification, monitoring, accountability, reporting, and timely, accurate guidance and alignment on risk and compliance matters.
- Stays up to date with relevant laws and regulations regarding controlled business operations;
- Assesses the implications of such regulations on current company policies, investigates and analyses risks, and proactively advises the Board and Management Team (MT);
- Coordinates all risk management and compliance activities within the organisation;
- Advises and supports the MT and Board in identifying risks and taking measures to manage them;
- Represents the organisation in matters of risk management and compliance with public and private entities, and participates in relevant meetings and working groups;
- Initiates, organises, and executes projects and change/improvement initiatives related to risk and compliance;
- Leads the development of the department in a dynamic way, ensuring both quality and efficiency, allowing for flexible implementation of changes and creating an attractive work environment for employees.
Profile
- Academic working and thinking level (preferably in business administration);
- Completed university degree supplemented with additional qualifications in Risk Management;
- Specific training in risk management;
- Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations;
- At least 5 years of experience in a similar role within a financial institution, preferably in a client-facing organisation;
- Solid knowledge of the insurance industry (aware of current developments) and familiarity with companies product portfolio;
- Keeps knowledge and skills current through a programme of continuing professional education;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills;
- Decisive people manager, capable of leading, motivating, and developing team members.
