Assignment

The Group Business Controller plays a central role within the finance function, acting as a bridge between strategic decision-making and operational execution. In this position, you will actively contribute to strengthening financial management, improving processes, and developing forward-looking insights.

You will share responsibility for the planning and control cycle and provide substantive input into strategic initiatives, including transformation projects and supply chain optimisation. You will act as a sparring partner for both senior management and various functional teams within the organisation.

Within the Finance team, you will work closely with professionals in FP&A, business control, tax, treasury, and procurement. You will report to management within Group Finance.

  • Responsible for integrated financial planning and control at group level;
  • Translating financial analyses into strategically relevant advice for the board and stakeholders;
  • Monitoring cash flow, working capital, and investments (CAPEX) and identifying optimisation opportunities;
  • Actively contributing to forecasting, budgeting processes, and performance monitoring;
  • Supporting strategic projects impacting the entire value chain;
  • Developing efficient reporting structures and optimising tools (including Power BI);
  • Facilitating decision-making through clear, data-driven insights;
  • Acting as a connecting factor between finance, operations, and commercial departments.

Profile

  • Completed university degree in finance, business economics, or a comparable field;
  • At least 7 years of relevant experience in business control, FP&A, or financial consultancy;
  • Experience within the retail sector or with supply chain-driven organisations is a plus;
  • Proven experience in setting up and improving financial processes and reporting systems;
  • Proficient with BI tools (preferably Power BI) and comfortable with data-driven decision-making;
  • Strong analytical skills, conceptual thinker, able to distil complex matters to their essence;
  • Confident communicator at all organisational levels;
  • Proactive, results-oriented, and capable of taking initiative independently;
  • Combines persuasive skills with a pragmatic approach;
  • Stress-resistant, structured, and focused on continuous improvement;
  • Brings energy and professional calm to dynamic environments.
