Position
For our client—a portfolio company of a well-known private equity house in the rapidly expanding consumer goods sector—we are looking for a Finance Manager who will report directly to the CEO and serve as the company’s senior financial executive.
The Finance Manager reports directly to the CEO and holds full financial responsibility. He/she will develop and optimize the financial organization and overall financial performance. This requires a strong focus on continuous improvement of financial processes, systems, and structures, as well as in-depth analysis and understanding of underlying drivers to enhance performance.
The Finance Manager is a proactive business partner who raises financial awareness across the organization and collaborates closely with other functions to improve efficiency and reduce cost
- Responsible for budgeting, accounting, proactive reporting, cash management, treasury, tax, financing, M&A support, insurance, risk management, compliance, legal structure, and IT;
- Final responsibility for the further development of the finance function, including integrated financial planning (strategic and operational), i.e. budgeting, forecasting, real-time dashboards, periodic reporting, and risk management;
- Leading and guiding the IT team and establishing an IT roadmap for the coming years;
- Developing and implementing the financial strategy of the organization in line with overall business goals;
- Ensuring discipline across the organization regarding financial processes, including tight cash management;
- Developing the right performance metrics and management reporting based on KPIs;
- Analyzing financial results and identifying opportunities to improve profitability and optimize costs;
- Fostering a data-driven business culture;
- Acting as a business partner to the Executive and Management Team (CEO, CSO, COO, etc.) by critically monitoring the development and execution of the strategic plan;
- Co-assessing and managing investment projects and business cases, including cost-benefit analyses and risk assessments;
- Supporting the M&A agenda and managing relationships with M&A advisors;
- Maintaining relationships with shareholders, banks, auditors, and other relevant stakeholders.
Profile
- Experience as a final-responsible leader in a finance function;
- Clear and decisive leadership, with flexibility in management style;
- A team player with experience managing teams;
- Clear communicator, assertive, trustworthy, accurate, and detail-oriented;
- No-nonsense, hands-on, fast-paced, and stress-resistant;
- Open in attitude and communication;
- Experience in a production environment, including cost price calculations and control over production costs and commercial margins, is a strong plus;
- Enjoys working closely with engaged stakeholders; experience with private equity or owner-led businesses (DGA) is a plus;
- Experience in an international environment is a plus;
- M&A experience is a plus;
- Experience working with external financiers.
