Our client is a professional services business. The organisation is growing rapidly, both organically and through acquisitions, and is currently in a phase of further scaling and professionalisation. The Finance Director plays a key role in safeguarding financial control, predictability, and data-driven decision-making.
Position
The Finance Director is responsible for the entire financial function within a growing organisation active in the services sector. The role includes leading the Finance team, ensuring financial continuity, further professionalising processes and data, and being actively involved in the buy-and-build strategy. The Finance Director is part of the management team and reports to the CEO and the shareholder.
- Leading the Finance team;
- Responsible for month-end close, reporting and management information;
- Preparing and monitoring budgets, forecasts and KPI reporting;
- Managing cash flow, working capital and banking relationships;
- Responsible for the annual accounts, audit and external reporting;
- Developing and implementing process improvements and automation within the Finance organisation;
- Integrating and consolidating financial administrations following acquisitions;
- Managing data quality in financial and operational systems;
- Acting as the first point of contact for legal matters and external advisors.
Focus areas:
- Financial control: delivering reliable and timely management information and reporting;
- Cash management: preparing free cashflow and liquidity forecasts;
- Automation: initiating efficiency improvements and the application of AI in financial processes;
- Integration: overseeing financial integrations and consolidations within the buy-and-build strategy;
- Forecasting & planning: developing rolling forecasts and financial scenario analyses;
- Legal & Governance: ensuring compliance with regulations, covenants and governance requirements.
Profile
- 7–12 years’ relevant experience in financial controlling, consolidation and reporting
- Demonstrable responsibility for annual accounts, audit and external reporting
- Higher professional education or university degree in Business Economics, Finance or Accountancy; RA/RC is an advantage
- Experience in professional services or project-driven organisations
- Experience with buy-and-build, integrations and consolidation of multiple entities
- Strong affinity with data, BI systems and process automation
- Experience with or interest in the application of AI within finance
- Professional command of Dutch and English
- Analytical, results-oriented and structured
- Strong sense of responsibility and ownership
- Communicative, transparent and decisive
- Ability to develop a small team in a changing environment
- Focused on collaboration, quality and continuous improvement
