Our client is a professional services company experiencing strong growth, both organically and through acquisitions. The organisation is entering a phase of further scaling and professionalisation.
The Finance Director plays a key role in ensuring financial control, predictability and data-driven decision-making.

Assignment

The Finance Director is responsible for the full finance function within a growing services organisation.
The role includes leading the Finance team, safeguarding financial continuity, driving the professionalisation of processes and data, and being actively involved in the company’s buy-and-build strategy.
The Finance Director is part of the management team and reports to the CEO and the shareholder.

  • Lead and develop the Finance team;
  • Ensure accurate and timely month-end closing, reporting and management information;
  • Prepare and monitor budgets, forecasts and KPI reports;
  • Manage cash flow, working capital and banking relationships;
  • Oversee statutory accounts, audits and external reporting;
  • Develop and implement process improvements and automation within the finance function;
  • Manage the integration and consolidation of financial administrations following acquisitions;
  • Ensure data quality across financial and operational systems;
  • Act as the first point of contact for legal matters and external advisors.

Core Areas of Focus

  • Financial control: deliver reliable and timely management information and reporting;
  • Cash management: prepare free cash flow and liquidity forecasts;
  • Automation: identify efficiency improvements and drive the use of AI in financial processes;
  • Integration: oversee financial integration and consolidation activities within the buy-and-build strategy;
  • Forecasting & planning: develop rolling forecasts and financial scenario analyses;
  • Legal & governance: ensure compliance with covenants, regulations and governance requirements;
  • Stakeholder management: maintain effective relationships with banks, investors and auditors.

Profile

  • 7–12 years of relevant experience in financial controlling, consolidation and reporting;
  • Proven responsibility for statutory accounts, audits and external reporting;
  • Degree (HBO+/WO equivalent) in Business Economics, Finance or Accountancy; RA/RC qualification is an advantage;
  • Experience within professional services or project-driven organisations;
  • Experience with buy-and-build strategies, integrations and consolidation of multiple entities;
  • Strong affinity with data, BI systems and process automation;
  • Experience with or interest in applying AI within finance;
  • Professional command of both Dutch and English;
  • Analytical, results-oriented and structured;
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability;
  • Communicative, transparent and decisive;
  • Ability to develop and lead a small team in a dynamic environment;
  • Collaborative mindset with a focus on quality and continuous improvement.
