Assignment
The Finance Director is one of the direct reports of the CFO and has a broad responsibility for managing and improving the financial operations, forecasting and reporting of the company. The Finance Director leads and develops the Finance team of just under 20 team members. Furthermore, the Finance Director is the key sparring partner of the CFO and management on the financial strategy of the company.
The Finance Director will play a key leadership role in further professionalising the company’s business processes and Finance function.
Key in this role is compelling logic. The basics have to be done right before anything else happens. Focus areas are solid financial accounting, financial reporting, business planning cycle and modelling and overseeing of taxes.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, bookkeeping, tax returns and financial reporting processes;
- Run a tight ship on basic financial accounting; clean general ledgers, simple accounting, on-time and in full reporting to multiple stakeholders and (financial) controlling;
- Prepare and improve monthly, quarterly, and annual statutory and management reporting for various stakeholders;
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, local regulations, and internal policies;
- Drive continuous improvement in financial planning, tools, and systems to improve quality of reporting and to drive process efficiencies;
- Act as a strategic business partner to senior stakeholders;
- Ensure business is supported in value creation through steering information, decision support and monitoring of business cases;
- Lead ad-hoc analyses to improve profitability, e.g. on costs, pricing, project/contract profitability or investments;
- Optimize cashflow and working capital;
- Manage existing third-party debt facilities and ensure compliance with finance documents; support CFO in periodic (re-)financing;
- Institute sound risk management practices and internal controls;
- Lead and coach finance teams, fostering a culture of excellence and development;
- Contribute to transformation projects and change management initiatives.Asssignment in bullets.
Profile
- Broad experience leading teams across the realm of finance (FP&A, financial operations, controlling, reporting);
- Proven track record of driving improvements in integrity, quality and efficiency of financial processes;
- Excellent communication and leadership skills – you are a natural team player and know how to motivate and drive accountability in your teams;
- Result-oriented, ambitious, hands-on;
- Strong project-management, problem solving and analytical skills;
- The ideal candidate is a qualified Master in a relevant study and holds a RA or CPA qualification;
- Prior experience of working in a private equity and/or entrepreneurial (“DGA”) environment is a plus;
- Must be fluent in Dutch and English.
