A newly established private investment firm will focus on managing various entities. The investment portfolio consists of both active and passive investments, as well as several entities engaged in operational business activities.
Based in Amsterdam-Zuid, a small and dedicated team will be formed, consisting of professionals responsible for operations, legal matters, and finance.
Assignment
The Finance Director will be responsible for the financial management and reporting of the various entities, and over time, will assume several statutory directorships. The Finance Director is not only capable of handling core tasks and responsibilities but also thrives as part of a small, accountable team. This person is hands-on, willing to roll up their sleeves, and ready to take on a wide range of responsibilities.
We are looking for a stable, structured, and communicative team player who can implement sound financial policy while remaining agile and responsive to new projects and opportunities. This person naturally handles information with discretion, is pragmatic, and has a down-to-earth personality.
- Ultimately responsible for Finance and IT, as well as statutory responsibility for several entities within the structure;
- Responsible for establishing and managing financial administration and reporting, as well as handling accounting and tax matters in collaboration with external advisors;
- Prepares internal management reports for shareholders;
- Leads the selection and implementation of an ERP system;
- Takes initiative in developing analyses and reports that contribute to improving performance across the entities;
- Primarily responsible for financing, capital position, and external financial relationships, acting proactively to enhance them;
- Provides analytical support and performs financial modeling of plans and business cases;
- Able to lead due diligence processes;
- Maintains tax, treasury, and banking relationships;
- Ensures full financial and tax compliance;
- Possesses relevant cash and FX management experience.
Profile
- Master’s level education (WO); RC or RA is not required, but a plus;
- At least 15 years of relevant experience, including experience as a financial leader;
- Experience managing various financial holding structures;
- Able to distinguish between essential and non-essential issues, while maintaining attention to detail;
- Experience in developing and improving financial reporting, budgets, and forecasts;
- Knowledge and experience with IT and ERP systems; ERP implementation experience is a definite advantage;
- Experienced in preparing financial analyses, business cases, and investment proposals;
- A structured personality with impeccable integrity; naturally discreet;
- Down-to-earth and no-nonsense attitude; pragmatic, maintains oversight, willing to get hands-on, but knows when to ask for help;
- Intrinsically motivated to deliver high-quality work and proactive in identifying potential risks and opportunities.
