Position
Due to further growth, ambitions, and professionalisation, we are looking for a highly business-minded candidate for our client. An entrepreneurial CFO with drive, who not only understands the business but can actively help develop it and identify opportunities. The CFO will be a member of the executive team and reports to the CEO/owner. From a financial perspective, the CFO will share responsibility for realising the growth strategy, operating hands-on but also contributing strategically in the long term.
- Act as a business partner for the executive team, management, and organisation;
- Achieve cost leadership within the sector;
- Drive further improvements in operational performance;
- Ensure an effective and efficient organisation, particularly regarding indirect operations;
- Further professionalise the control function, including improving reporting, the budgeting process, and ensuring data integrity;
- Collaborate with the CEO/owner to identify and evaluate M&A opportunities;
- Provide both solicited and unsolicited business advice as a trusted partner;
- Assess and support major decisions, investment plans, and business/financial aspects, offering advice and improvements;
- Analyse and evaluate all production results;
- Create and maintain business-supporting KPI dashboards, including benchmarking;
- Establish robust cashflow forecasting and take a guiding/advisory role in implementing various cost-saving and working capital reduction programmes;
- Serve as the point of contact for external stakeholders such as auditors, banks, and tax authorities;
- Co-manage a strong ICT strategy and its execution.
Profile
- Completed degree in Economics, Business Administration, or related field, preferably supplemented with RA or RC qualifications;
- At least 10 years of experience, including several years as a financial executive in a complex mid-sized organisation;
- Experience in consumer products, fresh goods, supply chain, agri, wholesale, or FMCG is a plus;
- Suitable experience within a (mid-sized) family business or owner-managed company;
- Experience with audit, due diligence, and/or buy-side M&A is a plus;
- Solid control experience in a demanding and fast-growing environment;
- Excellent communication skills in both Dutch and English, written and spoken;
- Energetic and enthusiastic candidate with drive;
- Pragmatic, independent, analytical, and quick thinker with strong inquisitiveness;
- Hands-on, grounded, and practical;
- Strongly business-oriented, able to understand and support the business;
- Flexible and willing to travel internationally as required;
- Leadership experience, able to delegate, sensitive to relationships, and capable of persuading based on content.
