Assignment
We are seeking a commercially driven CFO on behalf of our client. This is a key leadership role within the finance function, though not part of the executive board. We are looking for an energetic candidate with strong drive—someone who not only understands the business but can actively contribute to its growth. The CFO reports to the Managing Director. From a financial perspective, the new CFO will be jointly responsible for executing the company’s growth strategy, combining hands-on operational involvement with long-term strategic insight.
- Act as a business partner to the executive and management team;
- Achieve cost leadership within the industry;
- Drive continuous improvement in operational performance;
- Establish an effective and efficient organisation, particularly in indirect operations;
- Support the successful and efficient operations of a new location;
- Further professionalise the control organisation, including improving reporting, optimising the budgeting process, and ensuring strong data integrity;
- Advise the business—both proactively and reactively—as a trusted financial partner;
- Evaluate and support major business decisions, including investment plans, by providing financial insights and recommendations;
- Analyze production results and performance;
- Develop and maintain KPI dashboards to support the business, including benchmarking across production sites;
- Set up robust cash flow forecasting and take a proactive role in cost savings and working capital reduction programs;
- Lead process improvements within the finance function;
- Serve as the point of contact for external stakeholders, including auditors, banks, and tax authorities;
- Co-develop and support the execution of the company’s ICT strategy.
Profile
- Academic degree in (Business) Economics, preferably complemented with a Registered Accountant (RA) qualification;
- At least 10 years of experience, including several years as the final financial authority within a medium-sized production company;
- Significant experience in a manufacturing environment and with investment projects is a strong advantage;
- Preferably familiar with (or has experience in) a medium-sized family-owned business or entrepreneurial setting (DGA);
- Solid experience in controlling within a demanding and fast-growing environment;
- Excellent communication skills in both Dutch and English, written and spoken;
- Energetic, driven candidate;
- Pragmatic, independent, analytical, and quick thinker with a strong ability to probe deeper;
- Hands-on and grounded in reality;
- Strong business orientation and a desire to understand and support the business;
- Detail-oriented with a strong desire to thoroughly understand the organization’s business model;
- Ambitious to grow personally and professionally within the company over the coming years;
- Commercially aware and able to balance business interests;
- Flexible and willing to invest in their own development and that of the organisation;
- Proven leadership skills, able to delegate, sensitive to internal dynamics, and capable of influencing based on content.
