- Managing general ledger accounting for our client
and its various subsidiaries on a worldwide basis
at both an entity and consolidated level;
- Ensuring month end accounts are accurate and timely
together with detailed supporting analysis, a clear
management review process and proactive communication
of potential issues to the CFO;
- Keeping up to date on all significant technical and
international matters in accounting, tax and financial
reporting, liaising with the parent company’s Finance team
on policy matters and ensuring accounts follow best practice;
- Reviewing journal entries and general ledger reconciliations
including debtor provisions, intercompany balances, foreign
exchange items, tax accounting, stock compensation, equity
movements and consolidation entries, and reporting
significant exceptions to CFO;
- Ensuring accurate statutory accounts for all legal entities,
managing timely audit of accounts with external auditors
and ensuring all accounts presented accurately, filed on time
and in regulatory compliance;
- Coordinating work with the external accountant and Internal
Audit/Sarbanes-Oxley 404 teams;
- Ensuring timely and accurate preparation, accounting, filing,
payment and compliance of all income tax, corporate tax,
VAT and other taxation liabilities;
- Ensuring accounting and associated systems scale appropriately
in line with growth and other demands of business, including
accounting ledgers, invoice production and payment processing;
- Ensuring strong controls over cash, costs, expenses and accounts
payable processing including appropriate segregation of duties
and authorization levels as well as all payments being authorized,
for approved expenditure and paid within agreed payment terms;
- Keep on top of cash flow forecasting, FX exposures and financing
portfolio, ensuring all significant risks are monitored,
managed and actioned as appropriate.
- Working closely together with HR to process and pay the monthly
salaries as well as bonuses, share transactions, social
premiums and payroll taxes;
- Ensure all procedures and controls within the Finance department
are, and remain, SOX compliant and meet Internal Audit requirements;
- Perform ad hoc financial analysis and technical research for the CFO;
- Working closely with the Accounting Team to ensure team
objectives are met. This includes managing the team’s progress,
as well as participating in the work that needs to be done;
- Leading and motivating the team on a daily basis;
- Working closely with the SAP Consultant, maintain robust accounting
structure in SAP that best matches the development of the business;
- Working closely with the CFO, ensure all significant tax planning
matters are managed proactively;
- Working closely with the Manager Financial Planning & Analysis,
ensure strong budgetary cost controls and reporting;
- Working closely with the Manager Financial Projects, ensure
business developments are managed proactively and implemented
efficiently, cost effectively and scalable;
- Working closely with the parent company Finance Team,
ensure compliance with US GAAP and proactive consideration of SEC
reporting and Sarbanes-Oxley 404 requirements;
- Coordinate with the parent company to ensure proper US accounting
treatment for significant non-routine transactions;
- Report monthly financial information to corporate US
office through Hyperion (Oracle).

- Qualified Accountant (RA, CPA, AC(C)A)
- 5+ years experience in global financial control
role (including consolidations);
- 5+ years of management / leadership experience;
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and
US GAAP experience;
- Knowledge of (implementing) ERP systems (SAP desirable);
- Knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley 404 (desirable);
- Accurate, able to work under pressure and to strict deadlines,
and comfortable working in a quick turnaround environment;
- Ability to be either a hands-on deliverer of results or
motivating manager/coach as and when circumstances dictate,
in an efficient and effective manner;
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
in English and (preferably) Dutch;
- Strong leadership, management and team-working skills with
ability to work independently, coordinate the work of others
and work well with colleagues at different levels in the organisation;
- Organized, proactive and results oriented;
- Ability to have good grasp of the detail whilst understanding
the “big picture”, and to manage multiple tasks and
priorities simultaneously;
- Knowledge of Hyperion (Oracle) and SAP
is highly desirable'
- Willingness to travel.
